REAL VILLAGE EXPERIENCE OF KADAZANDUSUN PEOPLE IN KOTA KINABALU, SABAH, MALAYSIA

The journey will take 40minutes from KK city driving through Donggongon town toward Tambunan road.KampungNotorusshas a total landmass of 15,000 sq meters, TagalTinopikon Park is part of Moyogriver and among one of the successful TAGAL project launched by Malaysia Department of Fisheries.

Due to constantly over-fishing, the survival rate of the riverine fishes in Malaysia had dropped to an alarming level.Thus, the government launched the project "TAGAL", it means "prohibition" in the KadazanDusun language. The tribe community manages the part of Moyog River along the TagalTinopikon Park and fishing activity is extremely prohibited.  Visitors will be fined if caught fishing in a Tagal area. 

In TAGAL Tinopikon Park,visitors could experience the nature authentic village life with friendly KadazanDusuntribe,the park also prospers with delicious tropical fruits like Rambutan, Durian, Mangoesteen, Pineapple etc.While crossing the “Moyog River Suspension Bridge”, the ambience of flowing water bring peace in mind and soul, visitors will be welcomed by friendly “Pelian fishes”(Malaysia Red Mahseer ‘Tor Duorensis’) also known as the Gem of the River. ThePelian fish normally eat the distinctive seedsthat drop like flying helicopter from the combretocarpus tree(the native name is Kasigui). After prepare to trek hill in the park, visitors can immerse in the heart of the jungle filled with natural negative ion that purify our soul and body.Along the journey toward the waterfall, visitors can spot many floras such as Nepenthes Plant, Rattan Tree, Giant Bamboo, Tongkat Ali, fungietc and visitors can try the “Rubber Tree Tapping Demo”. The most breathtaking moment is when visitors can immerse themselves in the fresh flowing spring water in two waterfall named “Tombokou Waterfall &Wasai Waterfall”, the spring water is so fresh it could freshen up everyone soul in second.After waterfall, visitors could enjoy playing the “Village Fun Games” like Slignshot, Blowpipe Shooting & Coconut Bowling. After games, visitors could enjoy “Kampung Delicious Meal” that cooked with wood fire by tribe ladies, while feasting sit back relax and enjoy the traditional dance performance “Sumazau” by grandma with their grand children. After the meal, visitors could feed the Pelian Fish in the Moyog River and may enjoy the natural “Fish Foot Spa”,the experience will render an unforgettable sweet memories that last forever.

Moyog River is one of the most beautiful rivers in Sabah, and is always welcome visitors to “swim in Moyog River” compulsory wtih lifejackets.  Despite the warm weather, it felt rather relaxing and soothing taking a break under the trees shade you from the sun.
